What is Message Center
What is Message Center
Message Center is the multi-tenant administration platform for the SMS Gateway stack. It gives businesses, telecom operators, and content providers a complete web interface to manage SMS campaigns, approve sender names, monitor delivery, and maintain a full compliance audit trail — all without writing a single line of code.
At its core, Message Center separates two concerns that are often conflated in SMS platforms:
- Sending — handled by the stateless SMS Gateway (Core + Proxy), which processes campaigns at high throughput with mTLS-secured connections to SMPP networks.
- Managing — handled by Message Center, which owns tenant isolation, role-based access, moderation workflows, and compliance records.
This separation means you can deploy Message Center in front of any compatible SMS Gateway, customize it for your market, and scale each layer independently.
Who Uses It
| Role | What they do in Message Center |
|---|---|
| Campaign authors | Create and submit SMS campaigns for approval |
| Moderators | Review and approve or reject campaigns before sending |
| Workspace administrators | Manage team members, roles, and workspace settings |
| Operators / DevOps | Deploy and maintain the platform |
| Super administrators | Cross-workspace oversight, system configuration |
What It Includes
- Campaign management — create, schedule, and track SMS campaigns across four delivery modes: on-demand, scheduled, spread, and trigger
- Moderation queue — mandatory human approval before any campaign starts, preventing accidental sends
- Multi-tenancy — isolated workspaces (cabinets) for different departments, clients, or brands
- Role-based access control — four roles with configurable per-workspace permissions
- Sender name registry — manage and approve SADDR identifiers with revision history
- Compliance audit log — immutable record of every action with configurable retention
- Delivery monitoring — real-time progress, per-recipient status, error breakdown
- Grafana integration — embed your existing metrics dashboards
What It Is Not
Message Center does not replace the SMS Gateway Core or the SMPP Proxy. It is the management layer that sits in front of them. For raw gateway capabilities (SMPP connectivity, carrier routing, delivery reports), see the SMS Gateway Proxy and Message Control Platform documentation.
